The Atlas of Human Hair Characteristics is a collection of illustrations and photomicrographs designed to supplement the Human Hair Characteristic section of the Forensic Human Hair Examination Guideline by Scientific  Working Group for Materials Analysis (SWGMAT).

The Atlas is a graphic demonstration of the hair characteristics terminology in this section of the Guideline. Past and present members of SWGMAT along with other members if the forensic science committee have contributed photographs to the Atlas. New photographs will be added to or submitted for existing photographs as they are submitted for inclusion into the Atlas.
